Mitch Vandenmeerendonk’s path to financial planning started with an Environmental Public Health degree from UW-Eau Claire, which is not the typical route, but it gave him exactly what this work requires: a comfort with analytical thinking and a genuine interest in helping people navigate complex problems. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Finance from UW-Whitewater, his CFP® designation, and the Tax Planning Certified Professional designation. When he was ready to start his career, he did a thorough search of firms across Wisconsin for one that matched how he believed clients should be served, AND Bernicke was at the top of his list.
