Kristie Weber joined Bernicke more than a decade ago as a Client Service Associate and has since grown through a series of roles, including paraplanner, paraplanning manager, Wealth Services Director, and, most recently, Chief Compliance Officer. What began with a handwritten resume and cover letter for an internal paraplanner opening led to passing her investment and insurance exams and a career defined by saying yes to new opportunities as they arose.
Her degree is in Criminal Justice with a genuine interest in regulatory law that turned out to be a perfect fit for compliance work. She reads regulatory guidance the way other people read the news, looking for what it means in practice and how it affects what the firm does for clients.
Today, her focus is on the processes, training, and culture that allow the team to serve clients well. She coordinates strategic case studies and training, mentors employees, monitors firm operations, and works alongside Ty Bernicke to keep the firm’s compliance environment strong. What she finds most satisfying is watching employees build real relationships with clients and grow professionally.
Outside the office, Kristie and her husband, Darin, married for 32 years, travel whenever they can, with history, hiking, good food, and the occasional beach all in the mix. She is an organic gardener, a furniture restorer who finds pieces others have given up on, and the proud owner of a chicken coop her husband built her for her birthday.
