Katie Aubart came to Bernicke as an intern while finishing her accounting degree at CVTC. That internship turned into a career, and she has been building on it ever since. Today, she holds her SIE, Series 7, Series 66, and Insurance licenses, and has become a reliable resource for annuity transactions, supporting colleagues across the firm on some of the more complex processing work the role requires.
Her day revolves around client communication, financial planning support, transaction processing, and the behind-the-scenes coordination that keeps advisory operations moving efficiently. She is known for following through, and clients who have worked with her over the years tend to feel that. Building those trusting relationships over time is what she finds most satisfying about her work.
What surprises people about the paraplanner role, Katie will tell you, is how much is happening at once. Balancing multiple clients, multiple advisors, and multiple moving pieces requires more organization and judgment than most people see from the outside.
Outside the office, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and their four young children. Much of their family time is spent cheering on the kids as they participate in a variety of sports. She is passionate about tending to her large garden, and as a family, they love fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys teaching youth archery through the Chippewa Bowhunters Club. People who know her well would add that she is far more competitive than she lets on.
