Evan Morrissey spent twelve years coaching college basketball, mostly at the Division II level, traveling the country, building rosters, and going up against programs like the Wisconsin Badgers and Michigan State Spartans. He says coaching taught him to wear many hats and go above and beyond for the people counting on you. When it was time for a career change, the culture at Bernicke and the specifics of the Paraplanner role felt like a natural fit for both.
At Bernicke, Evan assists clients with requests, processes transactions, handles paperwork, and follows up on the details that come out of client meetings. What transferred from coaching to client services is the part that matters most: a genuine interest in the people you are serving and a focus on making sure every detail is handled with care. He will tell you that when he does his job well, a client’s needs are met before they even knew they had them.
Outside the office, Evan is on the golf course, walking his two dogs with his girlfriend, watching sports, or catching a movie. People who know him well would tell you he has seen most of this country from a team bus.
