Carson Bakkala

Information Systems Associate

Carson Bakkala came to UW-Eau Claire on an alto saxophone scholarship and left with a degree in Information Systems. That path makes more sense than it sounds. Both require learning a system deeply enough to make it look effortless to everyone else. At Bernicke, that means keeping technology working for the people using it, not the other way around.

His focus is on process improvement and automation. If something is being done the same way repeatedly, Carson is already thinking about how to do it better. He has built and connected systems across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Laserfiche, Salesforce, and onboarding automation, and his colleagues know him as the person to find when something is not working or when a problem no one has quite solved yet lands on the table.

When Carson’s work goes well, advisors have what they need, technology stays out of the way, and the team can spend more time with clients instead of fighting with systems.

Outside the office, Carson coaches girls’ volleyball at Memorial High School and competes in volleyball tournaments and leagues throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota. He is also working alongside other local coaches to build a boys volleyball club in Northwest Wisconsin, an effort to give athletes in the region opportunities that have not existed here before. He reads widely, plays golf with friends, and is genuinely curious about almost everything.
