Wealth Manager

Annasia Ford-McCollum, Wealth Manager, was on her way to becoming a therapist when wealth management found her. She was pursuing a sociology degree, drawn to the way people make sense of the world around them, when a mentor challenged her to look at financial planning. What she found was that the two fit together almost perfectly. People are subjective, money is emotional, and every client comes in carrying a backstory that shapes every decision they make. She has been working at that intersection ever since.

Annasia’s focus is retirement income planning and tax minimization, but she will tell you that her real job is putting puzzles together. Most people assume financial planning is about investment management, or that it’s a single conversation that produces a plan for the rest of their life. What she has found is that the pieces change depending on where someone is in life, and her job is to figure out what the new picture looks like and how to build toward it. Goals shift. Circumstances change. The plan moves with them.

Before joining Bernicke, she worked in accounting. She holds a B.S. in Finance from Metropolitan State University, along with her Series 7, Series 66, and Accident/Life/Health insurance licenses.

When she is not at work, Annasia is finding a sunny spot at the lake with a picnic blanket, kayaking, attending live jazz and blues performances, or volunteering with youth dance programs and the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk. People who know her are usually surprised to learn she has a teenager, and that she loved reading so much in high school she worked in the library.

If you are looking for someone who wants to understand who you are and the heart of your financial goals, Annasia is a good place to start.
