Our Process

BECOMING A CLIENT

We believe in superior service based upon education.

One of our goals at Bernicke Wealth Management is to provide you with financial education throughout the process of working with us, starting before you even become a client. Neither you nor the wealth managers make any commitments without thoroughly discussing services, fees, and expectations. If you’re considering working with us, rest assured that you’ll come away with helpful information regardless of whether or not you choose to move forward with our firm.
The initial consultation is an exploratory meeting to collect goals, financial information, and to decide whether we mutually would like to pursue additional planning opportunities.  After the initial meeting, additional meetings are scheduled as needed.
Additional plan design meetings are used to identify an individual’s financial strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. Stress testing financial assets against one’s goals, providing specific recommendations, and comparing one’s uniquely developed investment plan also occurs at these meetings. The number of additional meetings varies depending on the complexity of one’s financial situation.

Once a client, ongoing communication continues. Our firm monitors your accounts and contacts you when opportunities are identified. In addition, we review your plans and goals regularly or as your financial situation changes.

Our Formal Planning System

Bernicke Wealth Management is an independent firm whose professionals manage investment portfolios for individuals, non-profit organizations, and businesses.
Your investment portfolio is carefully coordinated with other aspects of your financial situation through a comprehensive wealth management process. When your needs require special expertise, the process may include advanced planning and investment consulting.
Advanced planning includes developing, coordinating, and subsequently maintaining tax, estate, and risk management plans with in-house and external professionals. Investment consulting requires developing investment plans, maintaining the plan throughout changing economic conditions, and coordinating your investments with other aspects of the wealth management process.
